What can you make with cardboard and a little imagination? In this open-ended Cardboard Creations Lab, we’ll turn ordinary cardboard into an art studio full of possibilities!
We’ll start by exploring some simple ways artists can cut, bend, connect, and build with cardboard. Then kids will have access to cardboard shapes, boxes, tubes, egg cartons, recycled materials, paint, drawing supplies, and more as they design and build their own creations.
They might make a creature. A robot. A building. An abstract sculpture. Something we haven’t even thought of yet!
We’ll also have larger cardboard pieces available for collaborative building, drawing, and painting, giving kids a chance to create on a scale they don’t usually get to experience at home.
This is a process-based art class, so there is no single project everyone is expected to copy. The goal is to experiment, problem-solve, build, make a mess, and see where their ideas take them. Smaller projects can be taken home.
Class is held from 10:00am-11:00am at the 21C Library!

- Cost: $20 per child (use code “sibling15” for 15% off your total enrollment price when registering two or more students)

- Class size limited to 12 students
- This is a drop-off class, although parents are welcome to stay nearby if their child needs them. Please have younger children use the restroom before class. I am unable to leave the classroom to accompany children to the restroom, so if your child may need bathroom assistance, please plan to remain at the library during class.

- Clothes that can get messy
- Water bottle
