Creative outdoor fun for kids and their grown-ups!

Art in the Park

Join us this summer for joyful, nature-inspired process art adventures in local parks. Perfect for ages 2–7 with a caregiver.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Art in the park is designed for children ages 2-7, with a caregiver present. Younger and older siblings are welcome to participate with supervision.

We will meet at various parks local to Monument, Colorado throughout the summer. At the park, we will hold a 45-minute process art class with a variety of high-quality art materials. Play at the park afterwards is encouraged! Each session is a stand-alone class, so feel free to sign up for just one or join us for several!

I believe all children should have access to meaningful art experiences, so these classes are set up as a “pay what you can” experience. A suggested registration cost is $8/student, but please feel comfortable to pay what you are able.

Reserve your spot by checking out with your preferred date in our shop. If you are registering more than one student/participant, please email us @ megan@meganleighacosta.com so I can bring the appropriate amount of materials. If you would like to pay in cash, you may checkout with $0 to reserve your spot. Please note that we have limited seats.

About Megan Acosta

With over a decade of experience teaching art to children of all ages, I am passionate about using art as a way for families to slow down, connect, and create lasting memories. I hold:

  • B.S. in Art Education and B.F.A. in Photography from Penn State University
  • M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology from Texas Tech University

As a military spouse and mom, I understand the challenges of busy family life and the need for meaningful moments together. That’s why I focus on process-based art experiences that celebrate creativity and exploration rather than perfection.

The Art in the Park series is perfect for families who want to spend the beautiful Colorado summer outdoors and inject some creativity into their daily rhythms!

FAQs

  • Do I need to stay with my child? Yes—parents are expected to supervise and retain responsibility for their child’s safety and behavior.
  • What ages is this best for? We recommend ages 2–7, but younger and older siblings are welcome to join and explore!
  • Can I bring snacks or water? Water is great. We ask that snacks are eaten before or after class as they are often distracting to other students.
  • What happens if it rains? We’ll relocate to  a covered area, reschedule the class, or offer a makeup date if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  • Do I need to bring supplies? Nope! We bring everything—just show up in play clothes ready to get messy!
  • What does pay what you can mean? Is the class free? We designed this class because we believe art is for everyone, regardless of social status or income. We recommend a registration cost of $8 per student to cover the cost of our supplies, but please pay what your family is able to and what you believe is fair.
